Quilt Qwazy (Cat Lady) Queen

So, I happen to have six cats…. and a husband, so I always tell my husband that we’re the Crazy Cat Couple. With so many felines in my life they show up a lot in my pictures and they sneak both into and onto my quilts. Below is a selection of the kitties that have been in and on my quilts over the last few years.

I’m sure if I had a tiara, it would have a few threads and cat hairs hanging from it! Now, I was hoping to be witty and funny in this post but I’m tapping this out in LAX as I get ready to fly to Melborne (the one in Australia) and my swipe is getting about every third word wrong! In addition, I’m worried about the whole time-change-date-line thing so I’m going to go ahead and post early…. just in case!

Be sure to visit the other hoppers and see what they’re crazy about! And thanks to Marian from Seams to be Sew for her amazing “cat- herding” talents!

Also, there’s an awesome giveaway from the Fat Quarter Shop! Two $35 gift certificates! Enter here.

Happy quilting,

Beth

Very adorable pics. The kitties on the bookshelf quilt is one I’d like to make.

  2. LOLOLOLOL … Hope you’re having fun in Australia.. you know I was thinking it’s a day ahead there, when you come home, it will be hard to go back in time.. LOL What did you do with all those cats while you’re away? It’s a good thing my Boo was in her bed laying under her blanket if she’d seen those cats she would have been barking up a storm. I love all your projects, but the Naughty Dog totally made me laugh, I got it even without having the text in the quilt, but it is such a cool project. Thank you so much for participating in QQQ 2019 Beth. I love it when you join each year.

  8. Love the cat quilts and the cats.

  9. Almost makes me wish I had a cat!

  10. Have a great time in Melbourne. What sweet, sweet photos. My mom was considered a zoo manager. We lived on a farm with a lot of animals. We always had at least four cats in the house and a few in the barn. I don’t know how she did it but her whole live she had four cats in the house and a few in the barn. She shared her love of animals to the five of us kids. And so that love continues on in the next two generations. Love your quilts. Thanks for sharing.

  11. I love kitties! I am so envious of your trip to Australia. They have so many wonderful craftspeople. Thanks for sharing.

  12. Safe travels. Looks like so much fun.

  21. We use to have 2 cats when our children were growing up. They lived to an old age, but I can’t replace them because of too many people in our family having allergies to cats.

  22. I’m a cat person too. I miss my cats. Thank you!

  23. Have fun on your trip.

  24. If one of my projects didn’t get inspected by my cat…I’d probably throw it OUT!!! ADORABLE companions…oh the adventures. I have one very demanding, smart, makes me laugh DAILY mixed Siamese cat named Mary Alyce…If I had just one more of her, I’d be in the nut house, seriously! Thanks for sharing!

  25. Carolyn Montgomery

love the black cats on and in the mini quilt.

  26. Hello! I wish you safe travels to Australia! I love all the pictures you shared of your kitties. My favorite is that very last one, which is brown striped with white boots. He looks like he is really enjoying that quilt very much. Enjoy your trip! ~smile~ Roseanne

  34. Cute kitties and quilts. My hubby and I are crazy cat lovers. He had just adopted a kitten when I met him. I looked at him with the kitten in his man cave apartment and knew he was the one. We have three cats who are our babies now that the kids have grown and moved away. May your travels be safe and happy … 🙂 Pat

  35. Have fun on the trip and love those cats!

  40. Hope you have an easy trip and fun time.

  41. Love all the cat quilts! We are a five-cat-family. (5 dogs, too.) The difference is, we have a mom cat and her four kids and they all look exactly alike; at least in your pictures you have a nice variety!

  42. Love the kitties! I have 9 around here. Enjoy your trip!

  43. Love all the cats I have had in my life.

  44. I love cats too, but I don’t love how they “help” you with your quilting. Thanks!

  45. Adorable kitty! Cute minis.

  46. Love cats … Kittens even more … Envy your travels

  47. We have had fixed and feed a feral colony of about 25 cats in our backyard. We never meant to have so many cats, but they live outside and seem to enjoy our yard/garden.

  48. My husband and I love cats too. We enjoyed looking at the cats and the quilts.

  49. I love kitties too. I have one that always wants to help and isn’t very helpful.

  50. Thank you for sharing your lovely pictures

  51. Your kitties are delightful. I also have furry quilt inspectors!

  52. Your cats certainly love your quilts and you obviously love them back! They are lucky to live together in a house full of love and creativity! Have fun in Melbourne! duchick at gmail dot com

  53. You’ve had a lot of cats through the years. I’ve made those cat blocks on your book shelf quilt. They sewed together very quickly. Enjoy Australia!

  54. I have one cat that demands ALL my attention. Sometimes it is difficult to sit down and sew with a massive, ball of fur in my lap.

  55. I’ve been seeing a lot of bookshelf quilts lately. I wish I had one for my full size bed but to be honest I don’t trust Lily the cat not to pee on it as she’s done on 3 of my quilts so I guess I’ll need to wait a few years or ten before I attempt it. Thanks for sharing so many of your quilts.

  56. I hope you enjoy your trip as much as I enjoyed the “library” of photos of cats and quilts.
    Carol Andrews

  57. Wow, that’s a lot of fun kitty quilts! Hope you’re having a great trip!

  58. Seems like the cats are enjoying the quilts as much as I did looking at them. Thank you for sharing.

  59. Thanks for sharing. We love cats too. If fact here we got married we agreed to aways have cats since we both grew up with nothing else. We currently have 3, 2 were litter mates but in size+coloring no one believes us. Since my boys left, + hubs was traveling a lot at that time, we got our 1st dog. We are on dog#2 now but the first thing they learn from the cats is always was your paws when you come back into the house. Even the Border Collie (B.C.)listened. I don’t know how they did it, I asked all my friends with dogs if this is normal for dogs, they thought I was weird asking such a silly question stating dogs don’t care, I said mine does, so somehow the cats have taught 2 dogs secretly to do certain cat behaviors. Our B.C. could also speak to each of them in a low talking voice…the cat always responded, a convo ensued. We loved listening to them. Cats do do the craziest things! quiltyladyrr-at-gmail-dot-com.
