Two pages into “OMG That’s Paleo?” and I was reading bits out loud to whichever person was standing nearest to me. Now, it’s not often you can combine a “laugh out loud” experience and a cookbook but Juli Bauer has managed both. I’ve been a long-time fan of her PaleOMG.com site but have spent most of my time reading her recipes, not her narrative. Turns out, she’s got a terrific sense of humor to go with her cooking sense! The recipes are well-organized and sound tempting for anyone (even if you’re not looking for a lifestyle change.) The book is organized into the basic meat groups plus baked, slow cooker, 5-Ingredient meals, side dishes, snacks and desserts. Each category has enough variety to tempt even a finicky eater like myself.
There are even a few comfort foods that are sure to become “go-to” recipes in my kitchen like Cilantro Chicken Nuggets and Pumpkin Granola. There’s also a handy section on what exactly Juli keeps on hand in her kitchen. If you’ve consider trying a Paleo Diet or you just want to read a really fun cookbook with some new twists on recipes, pick up a copy of “OMG That’s Paleo?” I think you’ll be glad you did!
