“Just One Evil Act” Will Have Readers Guessing

Elizabeth George’s Inspector Lynley has a problem with his partner, or a problem partner depending on how you look at things.    Either way, in this latest installment of the Inspector Lynley mysteries, the fashion-impaired Barbara Havers goes way out on the proverbial limb to help her friend find his missing daughter.  Once she’s out on the limb, however, she has to decide where her loyalties lie…with her job or with the search to find the missing girl.  Is it possible she’ll go so far that even Lynley’s influence can’t save her job this time?

Once again, Elizabeth George spins an intriguing and highly entertaining tale about the frailties of humanity as seen through the eyes of our favorite members of the Met.   The story is fresh and highly entertaining with just enough twists and turns in the plot to make even the most avid mystery reader wonder at what the outcome may be.  If you’ve never made Inspector Lynley’s acquaintance, I highly recommend this series.  It’s a great combination of witty Brit-isms, interesting characters and terrific plot.

This book was provided to me by Penguin Group for this review.  The opinions, however, are entirely my own!

  1. I’ve come to love the Inspector Lynley books written by Elizabeth George. It amazes me how intricate these stories are… certainly not a fast read but so intriguing and interesting. The only problem I sometimes have – and this depends upon which book/story I’m reading – is the language.
