Let’s face it, happiness can be a tough one. Not the fleeting joy of an acquisition or an achievement but that deep, settled contentment that signals true happiness. Bill Giovannetti’s new book “Secrets to a Happy Life” offers a roadmap to deeper happiness using a Biblical story fraught with disappointment…Joseph (the one with the many colored coat.) Giovannetti uses Joseph’s story to help guide us through a study of the things that make for true happiness. (Here’s a hint…it isn’t just when everything is going your way.)
Giovannetti presents his information in a thought-provoking, highly readable manner. If you’re like me, you may want to read this one with a highlighter in hand. Nearly every chapter contains some nugget of wisdom that you’ll want to tuck away for further examination. Each chapter ends with a few straightforward discussion questions which would make this book a great study to do with a small group. Don’t wait to get a group together, though, if you’ve been feeling a little low in the joy department. Get a copy of “Secrets to a Happy Life” and start increasing your happiness quotient right away! This book isn’t going to solve all your problems, but it may give you some perspective-adjusting tools to help make your current situation better.
