Take a floating condominium development, a blind prophet, a child who sees what the adults around him can’t, a clash of faith and add a dash of apocalypse. String it together with well-written characters and a terrific plot and you have a new brand of Christian fiction that combines the edginess of a classic action thriller with the supernatural forces. “Afloat” is both thought-provoking and entertaining, proving that Christian fiction is ready to take its place on the main stage of action adventure novels.
Erin Healy does a terrific job of combining characters and situations with just the right blend of tension and surprise to keep the reader turning pages. The action never lags and the outcome is unexpected and entertaining. I’d highly recommend this book for action novel fans from middle school grades and up. If you’re looking for a fast-paced thrill ride of a book then look no further. ”Afloat” will give you a healthy dose of action and intrigue.
This book was provided to me by Thomas Nelson as part of their BookSneeze program for this review. The opinions, however, are entirely my own.
