Jessica Morgan is a woman with a secret to keep and she believes that she and her secret will be safe in the Willamette Valley. An accident brings her into contact with the man who could be the man of her dreams…but can she trust anyone with the secret she’s been carrying? Do our burdens lighten when they are shared or will everything she wants be lost if she’s honest?
Now, I have to be honest, I choose this book to review because it was set in Oregon but I was thrilled that it turned out to be a terrific read. Gunn does a great job building the suspense and keeping us wondering what our heroine is hiding while taking her on a journey of faith and friendship to a rather unexpected ending. The character and setting feel authentic and fresh and Gunn weaves her tale with professional grace. It’s Christian fiction at its best…characters with flaws and warts struggling to find what faith really means in their life.
I have to admit that I’m one of those people who can tell you “who done it” very early in most book but “Secrets” had me guessing until nearly the very end. Pick up a copy and see if you can guess what Jessica is hiding!
